This was a fairly quiet week for me due to personal circumstances. However I did have a tutorial with a technician to get a feel for how feasible he thought some elements of my project are.
He expressed confidence that it should be possible to meet at the very least the minimum requirements I settled on in week 1 with regards to technical difficulty. He also urged me to be cautious in some of the more advanced goals and definitely to not look near some things like networking several microcontrollers together until the minimum goals are totally cleared.
He also reframed my thinking about video generation in my project. I had been looking into different ways of encoding images as video in real time, which seemed difficult both in terms of execution and finding technical resources. It was suggested that I consider something like having a listener running in a script detecting when a new file is created in a folder and then displaying this file. I am yet to create something like this but if it works with low latency and is able to update enough then I think this could be satisfactory.
